Riley McDaniel Photography turned 1 year old in May 2021!

Prior to a year ago, I had dreamed of starting my own photography business for so long but just kept waiting for the “right” time. I loved that it allowed me to be creative and it was very different from my full-time job. However, I just continued to take photos of my family and friends for fun when I could and just kept dreaming. I created a facebook business page back in 2019 but never published the page. Then on May 1, 2020, in the middle of a global pandemic, when a lot of people were staying in not even thinking about a photo session in the near future, I finally hit “publish” on the page because “why not?” I thought.

I officially started Riley McDaniel Photography even though the timing certainly did not seem ideal. It still felt like the “right” time. And looking back, it was the best time for me.

Recap of our first year

So much has happened over the last year. I have met so many great families and couples during this time. They have trusted me with their most special moments and I am so appreciative of their support. I have gotten to love on and photograph sweet, tiny newborns. I have seen couples commit their lives to each other and party the night away. I have met families from all over who are vacationing at the best beaches here in Florida! I have traveled to new places to capture special moments. I hosted our first mini session event – Christmas farm minis and it was a hit!

Since this blog is brand new, you have only been able to see a glimpse on social media of what has been happening at Riley McDaniel Photography during our first year. I don’t want you to miss out on these things, so I will be highlighting some of my favorite moments from our first year here on the blog!

Over a series of posts, I will share with you past sessions and weddings that I know you will love to see more of on here. So stay tuned for a flashback of our first year!
